So the lift challenge! 20 times up and down in the glass lift in the middle of the Harlequin. One fact I learnt about the lifts in the Harlequin is once a month they are serviced by a company who sends some people in to check out the lift... this only happens for an hour or so 12 times a year... and it just turned out that on the day I was doing this challenge it was also the day that this routine service was happening! After a few times of going up and down and seeing the guys checking the lift I thought I had to come clean! I explained that I was not crazy but in fact in the middle of a challenge! They could not continue with their work while people were using the lift... so they came up and down with me! It turns out a few people did the lift challenge!
I was joined by the lovely Helen Ruston for this challenge!

probably the most embaressing challenge yet!
So this challenge was set by J - you probably would not have guessed that! The challenge was to throw my knickers at a pop star! So... it was only right to do this at a time we were going to see JLS... and in true JLS fan style then it was only right to have the right colour! So yellow it was!
Each challenge needs a witness so it was only right to go with Heids and Lynds to this one! The location was decided upon - and outdoor gig in Essex (very fitting for this challenge I thought!) Heids and Lynds got in the queue at 7am in the morning so we could get near the front! And that is exactly what happened! The only thing I was slightly shocked by on this one is 20,000 people there and yet I was the only person undertaking this endevour! (Someone said I should have gone to see Tom Jones if I had wanted to have company in doing this!)
After the throwing had taken place they remained at the front of the stage for the rest of the concert - and yes. all the boys did notice them... although they did not acknowledge them or mention anything.
This is my most embaressing challenge as yet!
have you got the x factor....?
So it turns out TV shows are a bit like buses... and offers to be the audience are now regulary coming my way via a variety of emails. So on this challenge I over achieved and went to see both The Rob Brydon Show and X Factor auditions.
At the Rob Brydon show we saw Chris O'Dowd and the band The Faces - it was an amazing time... and I would totally go and see this show live again. Then at X Factor we saw the first proposal during an audition and some amazing people get through... I look forward to seeing those who got through on the live shows later in the year!

20 questions..
so... it turns out that being an audience on a tv show is also a test in how interesting you can appear on paper! ready for friday's challenge (being in an audience on a tv show) today i filled in a questionnaire with a few things about me. however if this was an exam i would not have scored highly! as with most things in life... i got by with a little help from my friends! It turns out i do not have an special talents or party tricks...well that was until Helen taught me how to make a dead chicked out of a tea towel (not the best trick for vegetarians!) and how to make a puppet out of a pair of gloves! Although as these are newly aquired skills I am hoping that I will not need to demonstrate them on friday! Also i have never had an unusual job, celebrity story, a claim to fame, funny family story and nor do i look like a celebrity! Its amazing how many things you need to share about yourself to sit in an audience! I am not planning to share anything on the show... as this was not part of my challenges!
...although having written this I do realise what would have made me sound more interesting in my 'hobbies' section was to say that I am currently trying to do 30 challenges before I turn 30! never mind...

Be in the audience of a TV show
I now have tickets to this challenge... Friday 1st July to go and see the Rob Brydon show! Brilliant! http://www.pinewoodgroup.com/2011/05/the-rob-brydon-show-returns-to-teddington/
a few more challenges completed and underway...
So... the keeping a blog challenge is not going so well... as I have not been updating this on where I am with my challenges... so this is what you have been missing out on!
London Marathon
So the challenge I was set was actually a half marathon... which at the time some of the 'challenge setters' though this might be maybe pushing it too far! However... unbeknownst to any of the challenge setters at the time I had already applied to run the london marathon and had been accepted! Which was a bit of a joke as at this point I could not run half a mile without stopping! So... after many months of training, running in the rain and minus temperatures, refraining from curry and alcohol on 17th April this year I completed the London Marathon! And here is my post marathon photo (where I am wearing my much loved medal) to prove it! And all the wonderful people who came along to cheer me on - not only on the day but during the months leading up to the big day - coming along for a few practice runs, listening to me moaning about blisters and pushing me out of the office door to go for a run around the block! (and now many of whom are up for running the marathon themselves next year... I am not sure if I am an inspiration or make it seem easier knowing that I have not exactly been on a par with Paula Radcliffe but more Ronald Macdonald when it comes to running!)
Going the wrong way up/down an escalator
So today...while in the Harlequin this challenge was completed! I went down the 'up escalator' outside Starbucks. This was not a planned challenge - but more that the down escalator was not working and had been blocked off... so I decided to walk down the other one (which was also stopped) then half way down I realised that this was actually one of my challenges! Brilliant!

challenges collide
nearly ticked another challenge off the list this week... but it was not meant to be! thanks to an automated email system set up by one of those 'be an audience on a tv show for free' websites I had been invited to witness a comic relief challenge take place. the idea is 24 hours of different tv comedies (mainly panel type things i.e. nevermind the buzzcocks) with a different audience every few hours - sounded interesting i thought. However... wait a minute... it clashes with my long run ready for the marathon. so this challenge will have to be done another time! :-(
